IN June, one of the world’s most popular streamers, Herschel ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm, admitted he was banned from Twitch for sharing ‘inappropriate’ messages with a minor.

Several companies began to distance themselves from Beahm, including Midnight Society, a studio he co-founded.

Studio head Robert Bowling tweeted: “If you send an inappropriate message to a minor. I can’t work with you.

While many companies distanced themselves before Dr Disrespect’s statement confirming the messages, many more did so when Beahm admitted to the DMs.

He wrote: “There were messages from Twitch Whisper [Twitch’s version of DMs] with an individual minor in 2017? The answer is yes.”

One of them is publisher Hi-Rez Studios, which collaborated with Beahm on its third-person shooter Rogue Company.

Rogue Company is a live shooter that offered a Dr Disrespect skin and map in collaboration with the streamer.

The game’s official Twitter account revealed that content featuring Dr Disrespect has been removed from the game.

Players who previously purchased these items will be refunded with in-game currency Rogue Bucks.

The tweet reads: “Hey Rogue Company, we have disabled the Dr. Disrespect content previously available in the game.

“We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any affected account this week.”

Players were disappointed not to get their real money back, but in-game currency is better than no compensation.
