Like all HoYoverse games, you’ll need to build your party with diverse characters to fill each important role.
In Zenless Zone Zero, there are three main character types: DPS, stun, and support, while your fourth slot is occupied by your Bangboo.
Your characters will depend on their builds and team compositions for maximum performance, but a quick look at our tier list is a good starting point for the best characters.

Ice Attack Agent Ellen is the best choice for DPS in the Shiyu Defense thanks to her high mobility and fast attack speed.
These are the most important factors when taking down Shiyu Defense, although Grace, Soldier 11, and Nekomata are good choices.

There aren’t many characters to choose from to fill the role of Stun, but we think Lycaon is the best option.
As an Ice Stun Agent, he is great at inflicting Daze on enemies and helping to initiate chain attacks.

Our favorite Support character is Rina, and while she supports shock builds best, like Electrical Support Operator, she works well on any team.
Lucy, Nicole, and Soukaku are also great support options if you don’t already have Rina.
It’s important to note that even if a character is lower level, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use them.
With the right build, any character is viable, but using these higher ranked players can make your job much easier.
