There has been talk about esports joining the Olympics for several years now, but it looks like the committee is finally ready to take the plunge.

The International Olympic Committee has tried to integrate esports events into its roster in the past, but it hasn’t been what gamers expected.

Instead of hosting popular esports like League of Legends, the Olympic Esports Series featured a series of virtual sports like taekwondo and tennis.

While gamers technically played a video game, they used their bodies as controllers while on-screen characters copied their movements.

The Olympics are finally ready to include traditional esports in their events after entering into a 12-year partnership with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has invested significant money in its entertainment industry in recent years, including gaming and esports.

The country is currently hosting the 2024 Esports World Cup, with more than $60 million (£45 million) in prize money up for grabs.

Players and teams from all over the world are present, participating in games such as EA FC 24, Apex Legends, League of Legends and Street Fighter 6.

Although the games for the event have not been announced, it appears that the Esports Olympic Games, which will begin in Saudi Arabia in 2025, will feature these more traditional titles.

There are rumors that Rocket League, Street Fighter and League of Legends will be part of the event, but they have not yet been confirmed.

While the partnership will continue for the next 12 years, it is also not yet clear whether it will take place every four years like other Olympic events.

It has also not been announced whether it will always be held in Saudi Arabia or not.
