STEAM gamers on PC can’t complain about the lack of games to play, but one of this year’s biggest titles is missing from Valve’s store.
That’s about to change, as the self-styled ‘quadruple A game’ of 2024 is coming to the platform very soon.
Skull and Bones is launching on Steam in August 22, 2024and players can now add the game to their wish list.
Pre-orders aren’t open yet, so we don’t know what price the game will launch at on Valve’s store, but Steam players will likely receive a launch discount.
Skull and Bones went through turbulent times during its decade-long development and initial release in February of this year.
So it’s only natural that Ubisoft would want to offer players more ways to play by making the game available on the most popular PC platform.
With a score of 59/100 on review aggregator Metacritic, Skull and Bones has received mixed reactions from critics, and its user score of 3.4 out of 5 doesn’t do it justice.
You can check out how we felt about the game at launch in our Skull and Bones review.
So far, the game has only been released on PC through Ubisoft’s own online store and the Epic Games Store, so adding it to Steam is the right move to grow its player base.
Like all of Ubisoft’s recent games, Skull and Bones will support cross-play and cross-save across all platforms via Ubisoft Connect.
This means that if you’ve already played on another platform, you can easily continue your pirate adventure on PC via Steam when the game launches there.
The arrival of Skull and Bones on Steam also means that it will be easier to download and play the game on the Steam Deck.
The game has yet to receive its official ‘Steam Deck Verified’ badge, but there’s no reason to expect Valve’s handheld to have any issues running it.
