Google added new Chrome Actions for mobile that will let you call, read reviews, or get directions to a restaurant or other business – all right in the address bar. The company announced the new feature on a blog on Wednesday.
Android users will see this new feature right away, but iOS users will have to wait until the fall.
First introduced in 2020, Google Actions allows you to quickly perform tasks in the address bar by typing selected queries such as “edit passwords”, “delete history” or “translate this page”. It’s one of the few address bar shortcuts that Google offers, like Shortcut “@” that lets you quickly find bookmarks, tabs, and links from your history.
Along with the new Chrome Actions, Google has also added a few other Chrome updates, including live sports cards in Chrome’s Discover Feed. The feature allows iOS and Android to receive automatic updates about your favorite sports teams and can be customized. Additionally, iOS users will now also see trending search suggestions in Chrome’s address bar when they click it on the New Tab page.
