Google’s Gemini AI chatbot will be able to respond to you faster and process more content into prompts thanks to an upgrade to the company’s Gemini 1.5 Flash AI model.
With the upgrade to Flash 1.5, you’ll see “widespread improvements in quality and latency, with especially noticeable improvements in image reasoning and understanding,” Amar Subramanya, vice president of engineering at Gemini, said. says in a blog post. Gemini’s context window, or the number of chunks of text an AI model can process at once, is also being quadrupled to 32,000 tokens, says Subramanya.
Flash 1.5, which was announced at Google I/O in May, will be available in the free version of Gemini on the web and mobile starting today, according to Subramanya.
Google is also announcing some other Gemini news. To help you find factual information about the topics you’re researching, the company will show links to related content on Gemini for “fact finding instructions” starting today, says Subramanya. You can view links by clicking a gray arrow at the end of a paragraph.
Additionally, Google will begin rolling out Gemini “gradually” to Google Messages for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. And Gemini for Teens will be available in more than 40 languages “next week.”
