It’s Internet Explorer Day in the US vs. Google!
There is just over an hour left until Sundar Pichai’s testimony in USA vs Googleand we’ve spent a surprising part of the morning in a time machine since 2005.
That’s when Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7 (the browser that a team led by Pichai would end up crushing by releasing Google Chrome). At the time, Google’s chief legal officer, David Drummond, sent Microsoft a very angry letter about search standards. Drummond wanted a choice screen and said Google was very concerned about the anti-competitive nature of Microsoft prioritizing its own search engine.
Many questions are being asked of Pichai that amount to: “this is now the argument against Are you right?” So far, he is fighting very well.
