Bill Gates wrote a memoir, covering his childhood days until he formed Microsoft in 1975. The book, called Source Code: My Beginningswon’t go on sale until February 4, 2025, but it’s available to order now.

In a post on your blog, Gates says the book addresses “the hardest parts of my childhood, including feeling like a misfit as a child, fighting with my parents as a rebellious teenager, struggling with the sudden loss of someone close to me, and almost getting kicked. outside of college.” It also covers Gates’ decision to co-found Microsoft with the late Paul Allen.

What it doesn’t appear to include, however, is the inner workings of Microsoft and Gates’ other business ventures. The book description says source code “It’s not about Microsoft or the Gates Foundation or the future of technology.” Instead, it is “the personal, human story of how Bill Gates became who he is today: his childhood, his early passions and pursuits.”
