Xbox delivered and Windows struggles to protect Recall

Microsoft put on the best Xbox showcase I’ve seen in years over the weekend. Layoffs, studio closures, and Xbox exclusives coming to PS5 have fans worried about the platform’s future, but Sunday’s showcase put many of those fears to rest.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer kicked off the show with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – cementing that Xbox is now home to Call to action – before moving on to new reveals and gameplay. Three titles stood out to me personally: Perfect Dark; Fable; It is Gears of War: E-Day.

Last week I revealed most of the original games that would be part of this showcase, but one I didn’t mention was Perfect Dark. Reports suggested it was in “difficult condition.” I hadn’t heard about a possible release window, so I wasn’t sure what exactly would be showcased during the showcase. The three-minute surprise Perfect Dark The trailer didn’t hold back on the gameplay, showing movements and visuals that looked super polished and not at all rough. Of course, it was just a trailer and we still don’t have a release date or window after almost four years. But it certainly looks like the game is going well.

Last week NotepadI also said I hoped to see more Fable and a 2025 release window, and Microsoft has delivered just that. The most recently Fable The trailer included Matt King, most widely recognized as Super Hans from one of the best British comedy shows of all time: peep show. King plays the hero Humphry, who will be forced to come out of retirement to face a mysterious enemy.

King’s appearance made me smile from the start, along with the subtle sarcasm and British humor. FableThe developer of Playground Games, is best known for Horizon Forza series that always pushes the visual limits of Xbox hardware, and it looks like it will do the same here.
