GOOGLE is taking AI to the next level on Android with a series of useful tools to make life easier.

And one YouTube particular trick will give you an advantage over friends who have a iPhone.

The technology giant has just launched new Google Pixel 9 smartphones, but AI took center stage in many of the updates offered.

Gemini, the company’s AI gadget, is a big focus, appearing more and more on people’s devices in the future and becoming “fully integrated” into the Android experience.

From now on, when summoned, it will appear as an overlay at the top of the Google app you’re using to ask questions about what’s on your screen.

Among the revolutionary tools, users can now find virtually anything in a YouTube video they are watching.

When you call Gemini, you can ask questions about the video in front of you.

Google gives an example – imagine you’re preparing for a trip abroad and you’ve just watched a travel vlog – tap “Ask about this video” and ask for a list of all the restaurants mentioned in the video – and for Gemini add them to Google Maps.

“Because Gemini has built deep integrations for Android, it can do more than just read your screen: it can interact with many of the apps you already use,” the company says.

“For example, you can drag and drop Gemini-generated images directly into apps like Gmail and Google Messages.”

Gemini Live is also rolling out – although it’s a paid premium tool, Pixel 9 Pro buyers will get it free for a year.

This will allow you to interrupt mid-answer to delve deeper into a specific point if you wish.

Google has also introduced ten new voices for you to choose from.

Gemini Live begins rolling out in English today to Gemini Advanced subscribers on Android phones – and in the coming weeks will expand to iOS and more languages.

Meanwhile, Google has also addressed the possibility of inaccurate information with new models that are “faster and provide higher quality answers.”

“Over the coming months, we will continue to focus on speed and quality and roll out deeper integrations with Google Home, Phone and Messages,” Google said.

“Today we’ve reached an inflection point where we believe the usefulness of an AI-powered assistant far outweighs its challenges, and we’re excited for you to experience Gemini as your default assistant on Google Pixel 9.”
