SOME Google Pixel users have been left scratching their heads after a major update didn’t arrive on their phones as expected.
The June Pixel Feature Drop began rolling out on June 11, but several users claim they haven’t received it yet.
Among the free updates were several great AI tools.
Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a are set to gain access to Gemini Nano, which Google describes as its “most efficient AI model built for on-device tasks.”
The Summarize feature in Google’s Recorder app is now powered by Gemini on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a as well, allowing it to provide “more detailed, downloadable summaries.”
“It is capable of detecting and including the names of speakers so that conversation transcriptions are improved,” explained Google.
“And with the ability to export transcripts to text files or Google Docs, it’s easier to follow things like interviews and lectures.”
You can also display content on larger screens with the Pixel 8a, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro using a display via USB-C.
Elsewhere, there’s a new Pixel camera feature that automatically identifies “the best moment in your photo” in HDR+, making it simpler to take a photo of yourself in focus and smiling.
Finally, Google has introduced a tool to quickly look up a mystery caller, allowing you to do a reverse phone number lookup directly from your call log.

The release of new software means that not everyone can get updates immediately at the same time.
Some users in the US, including Verizon and T-Mobile customers, have complained that they are still waiting for the update to arrive.
And trying to download it manually doesn’t seem to work either.
“System update in settings does not receive any updates when manually requested,” wrote one user on Reddit.
“Additionally, when trying to update via the Pixel Update and Repair tool, an unsupported devices error message is preventing me from updating during the carrier service selection step.
“Is it just me or has anyone else not received the June feature update?”
Another frustrated Pixel owner responded: “WHAT IS HAPPENING AT GOOGLE!”
A third added: “Hopefully this week.
