ONEPLUS has unveiled a budget smartphone with some top-notch features – especially for those who care about their battery.
Samsung’s rival claims its new OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G can last up to two days on a single charge.
In technical terms, the device has a larger battery than many expensive phones on the market, measuring 5,110mAh.
As OnePlus says, this should give you over 44 hours of battery life on video calls and over 18 hours of YouTube playback on a single charge.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is slightly below that, at 5,000 mAh, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max is even lower, at 4,441 mAh.
OnePlus is also excelling at crucial charging speed, supporting up to 80W, although the company doesn’t indicate how long it will take in minutes.
But in comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is just 45W.
There’s reverse charging to wirelessly help a friend in need of battery power too, although it’s much slower at 5W.
Aside from the battery, other noteworthy features of the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G include a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP main rear camera.
It’s also one of the few smartphones that still has a MicroSD slot, allowing you to increase storage by up to 2TB without paying monthly cloud storage fees.

The screen also features OnePlus’ special Aqua Touch technology, which the company claims will improve touch accuracy and precision when the screen is wet from rain.

“We are excited to introduce the new OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G – a value phone that incorporates our flagship specifications and technologies to redefine the benchmark for its price range,” said Kinder Liu, president of OnePlus.
“OnePlus is dedicated to solving user problems to deliver real improvements to smartphone user experiences.
“With long battery life, exceptional fast charging, a captivating display and excellent photography capabilities, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G offers users OnePlus’ iconic fast and long-lasting flagship-level experience, all at an unbeatable price.”
The device costs £299, which is a fraction of many rivals.
It will be available from July 1st in Super Silver and Mega Blue.
Unfortunately it will not be available in the USA.
