MOTOROLA has unveiled a new smartphone that beats Samsung in price and Apple’s iPhones in battery life.
There is also a big plus for selfie lovers.
The Motorola edge 50 fusion, officially unveiled today, will hit stores in the UK in mid-May for £349.
It undercuts Samsung’s cheapest S24 device by a whopping £450.
Meanwhile, the gadget has an impressive 5,000 mAh battery.
For comparison, the newest iPhone 15 has a 3,367mAh battery.
This means it lasts much longer than a regular iPhone.
A 50MP Ultra Pixel main camera also puts image quality on par with Apple’s iPhone 15, which has a 48MP main camera.
But the front camera, at 32 MP, has more than twice the megapixel quality of a front camera on the iPhone 15s.
It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to resolve the Android x iPhone debate.

AI Camera Augmentation
Like the rest of this year’s lineup, Moto AI – Motorola’s native artificial intelligence (AI) software – has been injected into the Fusion device.
It is used to increase image quality, making high-action videos smoother and also improving night and low-light photography.
Moto AI also allows users to generate unique wallpapers for their devices that match their surroundings and even their clothing.
The devices – as they are part of the Android family – benefit from the Google network.
Google Photos, for example, is Motorola’s native gallery app for photos and videos.
This means users will soon be able to access even more enhanced AI editing tools, including: Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and Photo Unblur.
