BATTERY is always the biggest concern for smartphone users.
How long it will last? Can I get more power out of this?
Fortunately, there are a growing number of tools to help users extract as much power as possible – as well as increase battery life.
Taking care of your battery reduces the need to pay for an expensive battery replacement upgrade or an entirely new device.
Samsung has several cool features for its Android users to make the most of their phone’s battery.
A company insider revealed some settings and buttons you may have missed.
BATTERY PROTECTION
The heat generated when charging your smartphone is one of the things that affects battery life over time.
Keeping the battery 100% full for a long period of time can have a special impact.
With the battery protection option, you can prevent the battery from continuing to charge after reaching maximum.
You can change this by going to Settings > Device care > Battery > Battery protection.
Most Read on Phones & Gadgets
There is a choice between:
- Basic – When the battery is 100% charged, charging will stop until the battery level drops to 95% and then charging will begin again.
- Adaptable – Use maximum while sleeping and switch to basic before waking up. Sleep time is estimated based on phone usage patterns.
- Maximum – your battery will stop charging when it reaches 80%.
DEEPER POWER SAVING MODE
Most power saving modes just close the background activity for you.
But on Samsung phones you can choose and adjust how far it goes.
In settings, you can decide whether energy savings will:
- Turn off always on display
- limit device speed to 70 percent
- decrease brightness by 10 percent
- Turn off 5G
- Limit apps and home screen
To access it, swipe down and find the power saving button.
Tap and hold until the extended options appear.
PERFORMANCE PROFILE
You can also decide how your smartphone manages its performance.
The faster your device, the more processing power it needs and the more battery it consumes.
There are two performance profiles to choose from:
- Standard – Provides the recommended balance between processing speed, battery life and cooling efficiency
- Lightweight – prioritizes battery life and cooling efficiency over processing speed
So essentially, the light will save more battery, but you may notice that your device acts a little slower than usual when doing things like loading apps.
It is also important to note that these settings do not apply to games, which have their own settings in the Game Booster section.
If you want to change your performance profile, go to Settings > Device Care > Performance Profile.
