SAMSUNG has quietly boosted one of its popular features used to send photos and videos to friends.

Quick Share is the company’s own file-sharing tool that not only works between nearby phones but also uploads them to the web.

Quick Share works on Galaxy phones – but there’s also a way to send files to other devices

Existing users have described it as “The best feature on the Galaxy”.

“I love this feature!!” one person wrote on Reddit.

“Since I use a Windows laptop and a Samsung phone, transferring files is much easier.”

Until now, you were limited to 5GB per day free.

But Samsung fans have noticed that the limit has been doubled to 10GB, allowing people to send much larger files than before.

This is especially useful for longer, high-quality videos.

Quick Share for files locally via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct requires both devices to be Galaxy.

But one of the big advantages of Quick Share is that the recipient of files shared online via a link doesn’t need to have a Galaxy phone to download them.

This also means they can also be downloaded to PCs, not just a smartphone.

In comparison, WhatsApp only allows a maximum of 2GB per file – although the main difference is that you can send however you want.

‘Genuinely pathetic’ infuriates Samsung fans over lack of feature iPhone owners love – and calls for tech giant to ‘step up’

And sites like WeTransfer are also limited to 2GB for free.

Samsung’s Quick Share does not compress files, so they remain in their original quality.

How to use Quick Share

To use Quick Share for sending local files, first make sure both phones have Quick Share enabled – you can check by swiping down and looking for the Quick Share icon.

Next, go to the Gallery app and select what you want to send.

Tap To share button and select a device to transfer the image.

The recipient will then have to accept the file transfer request on their device.

If the recipient is not using a Samsung smartphone, you can select to copy a sharing link or create a QR code.

Once this is done, the file will be uploaded to the Samsung Cloud – the receiver will have two days to download it before it is cleaned.
