A GIANT American theme park is back for round two with a total makeover.
The tourist destination’s new attractions include a roller coaster and a camping-themed play area.
Kings Island, located in Mason, Ohio, is back with a vengeance.
Park goers can expect new rides, attractions and even updated dining options.
A local Cincinnati news station broke the news about the exciting new park.
Kings Island is a “364-acre amusement park”, Fox19 reported.
ROLLER COASTER RIDE
A particularly anticipated new attraction is a gigantic roller coaster.
The park is known for rides with more adrenaline, such as The Beast – a wooden roller coaster.
However, now they are opening a roller coaster for the whole family to enjoy – Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers.
The cartoon-themed ride is part of a larger opening this year on Kings Island called Camp Snoopy.
They also have a new campground – Beagle Scout Acres.
“Beagle Scout Acres is an area where children can run, crawl, play or relax with the family in a comfortable, shaded space,” according to the Kings Island website.
Park-goers are encouraged to “explore a campground filled with hills and grassy areas.”
The site also includes “interactive equipment for [make] noise” and “tents to climb or pass through”.
So you don’t get lost, it’s complete with “footprint paths” in the shape of Woodstock’s feet.
The Camp Snoopy experience promises fun for the whole family.
Kings Island describes it as “guaranteed to be like a day at camp.”
The park also encourages visitors to get involved in “camps,” led by members of the Peanuts gang.
Campers can “raise the flag at the pole, light a fire, or sound the camp bugle.”
ON THE MENU
In addition to plenty of new attractions to enjoy, there’s also a meal time to look forward to.
Kings Island promises something for everyone, including allergies.
Executive chief, Jose Perez shared some of the foods you should look for in the park.
He highlighted The Cheesy Mettwurst, a hot dog topped with bacon and mustard, and Miami Brewhouse’s new Double Grilled Chicken Sandwich for a healthier option.
