Instead of spending a lot of money to visit more popular US destinations like Florida and Southern California, The trip recommends a destination in Georgia.

Tybee Island, one of 15 islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, may not get “a lot of attention,” but it is “the most affordable summer beach vacation.”

There’s no need to fly either, as it’s also one of four islands that can be reached by car.

Those who live in the region see it as a “great alternative” to nearby Sea Island.

The tranquil spot, located near Savannah, still maintains a “remote” quality.

You get all the picturesque perks of a more expensive vacation without spending a lot of money.

With most accommodations on the island costing around $250 per night, a beach stay doesn’t have to break the bank either.

Most meals can also be found in an affordable price range.

One thing is certain: there is no shortage of options for sightseeing or exploring.

From visiting the Tybee Island lighthouse station and museum to renting a bike or kayak, there’s probably something for everyone.

For those who want to get to know some of the marine life up close, visitors can embark on a boat expedition where they can see groups of dolphins.

Many of these tours will cost $65 or less.

There is also another equally fun option that is free.

That’s because the three-mile-long island is home to four “pristine” beaches along the Georgia coast, each with its own “vibe.”

Now it’s easier than ever to find the beach that best suits your travel personality.

For something quieter, North Beach, which can be found on the Savannah River, is home to the Tybee Island Light Station and the Tybee Island Marine Center.

The options don’t stop there, as Mid Beach offers a large selection of restaurants and hotels.

Still, the most “popular” hotspot is South Beach, where you’ll find the Tybee Island Pier.

Lovers of water activities will also be happy, as there is no shortage of fun when it comes to surfing the sea waves.

A more family-friendly option is Back River Beach, where vacationers can enjoy smaller waves.

The island is also a favorite among fans of the region’s healing properties.

Many visit the place in search of the “aromatic” air that they believe will alleviate their respiratory problems.

It is also said that those who suffer from anxiety may find some relief with “ocean nutrients”, which are known to reduce cortisol levels.

According to Visit Tybee Islandthe place has been a “loved” vacation destination for over 200 years.

The location also offers plenty of shopping options, as the island is home to gourmet food stores, as well as artisans including jewelers, interior designers, and painters.

You can even attend some cultural events at the historic Tybee Post Theater, where you can catch a movie, concert, or comedy show.

From fishing to live music, there are plenty of reasons to add the island to your travel bucket list.
