FROM a ‘Trollercoaster’ to Shrek’s famous outhouse, Universal Orlando’s latest addition is set to open in June.
The theme park has announced more details about the highly anticipated DreamWorks land, which includes interactive play areas and character meet-and-greets.
Universal Orlando has announced that its new DreamWorks land will open on June 14.
The area will feature areas dedicated to the studio’s animated classics Shrek, Kung-Fu Panda and Trolls.
It will include a new live show, character meet and greets, interactive play areas, a family-friendly roller coaster and souvenir shops.
Shrek fans can meet the ogre himself, as well as Princess Fiona and Donkey.
They can also explore their swamp and cottage and other interactive experiences.
These include a children’s play area with four slides and several water features.
Swamp snacks will also be available, including Shrekzel, Far Far A Waffle and Frozen Ogre.
The village of Po in Kung-Fu Panda’s Valley of Peace will be recreated into a large play area.
This will include wet and dry play sections where guests can help the pandas wash and dry their clothes with water cannons, trash buckets and giant fans.
There will be an interactive gong, giggling baby pandas and huge bowls of carousel noodles from Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop.
Tourists can also enjoy a digital experience in the area dedicated to the Jack Black film series.
The Trolls area will feature an aptly named Trollercoaster, which will see guests riding the iconic Caterbus while escaping evil spiders.
A shaded play area, located beneath a giant 20-foot mushroom, will feature climbing structures decorated with flowers and insects.
Another eagerly awaited attraction is the Imagination Celebration, a multi-sensory attraction installed in the new DreamWorks Theater.
The new addition will combine pop tunes, dance and advanced technology for a fully immersive experience.

Universal Orlando also announced updates to current attractions, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s iconic Hogwarts Castle.
The Hogsmeade section, located in Islands of Adventure, will now feature a projection show next to the famous wizarding school.
On select nights from June 14th, Hogwarts Always will bring witches, wizards and Muggles through various points throughout the school year.
“We are excited to launch a series of never-before-seen experiences for the whole family to enjoy from day to night,” said Karen Irwinpresident and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando.
“These new experiences – along with the incredible attractions currently at our theme parks – will allow our guests to create lasting memories that will make this summer truly unforgettable.”
