The first images of the opening of the new Super Nintendo World land at Epic Universe next year have been revealed.
Universal’s new theme park, opening in Florida next summer, has five “imaginative worlds” as part of the new resort.
The latest images reveal what visitors can expect from the new Mario-themed attraction, similar to the one at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Guests will enter through the famous green pipe, entering the themed land with landmarks including Peach Castle, Piranha Plants and Goombas.
Super Mario Land will feature encounters with much-loved characters including Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach – as well as some exciting new toys.
The main attraction will be Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an AR racing ride.
Entering Bowser’s Castle, the guess will travel through Mario Kart’s racing tracks, collecting coins and throwing shells along the way (much like video games).
There will also be Yoshi’s Adventure – the first to open in the US – traveling through the Mushroom Kingdom in search of glowing eggs.
Food and drink will be served at the Toadstool Café, with themed snacks such as Super Mushroom Soup and Piranha Plant Caprese.
Want something to take away? Then there’s also Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats for others food and drink.
Souvenirs can also be purchased at 1-UP Factory and Mario Motors.
At the edge of Super Mario Land will be Donkey Kong Country, with meet-and-greets with the main character and Diddy Kong.
The tropical landscape will have the Mine-Cart Madness roller coaster, where passengers “protect” the golden banana along the way.
There will also be food stalls and shops throughout Donkey Kong Country, although more is yet to be revealed.
And just like in Los Angeles, guests can use Power-Up Bands, with extra activities that include collecting coins and digital stamps, as well as other surprises.
Epic Universe was first announced in 2019, and more has been revealed about the other five lands.
Here’s everything we know so far.
Celestial Park
Visitors will enter through the “heart” of the theme park – the mythical Celestial Theme Park, with “lush gardens and sparkling waters”. […] inspired by astronomical and mythological elements”.
The biggest ride at Celestial Park will be the Starfall Racers double launch roller coaster, with speeds of up to 62 mph as it travels the 5,000 feet of track, with heights of up to 133 feet.
There will also be the Constellation Carousel ride, as well as the huge Astronomica wet area.
Restaurants will include pan-Asian restaurant The Blue Dragon, serving Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine, as well as Atlantic, a Victorian-themed surf and turf restaurant.
Barbecue will be served at The Oak & Star Tavern, while Pizza Moon will offer snacks and Italian specialties.
The local hotel will also be in Celestial Park, with the 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel.
Isle of Berk
Based on How to Train a Dragon, the Isle of Berk will have four attractions around a huge lagoon with 40-foot Viking statues.
The Hiccup’s Wing Gliders family roller coaster allows riders to soar alongside Hiccup and Toothless in a winged flying machine.
Fyre Drill will allow guests to fire water cannons at targets while in a dragon boat, with other attractions including the Dragon Racer’s Rally and a Biking Training Camp.
Live shows, character meet-and-greets and souvenirs will also be available on-site.
And food will be found in Mead Hall and Spit Fyre Grill.
Dark Universe
More will be revealed about the land of the Dark Universe, though guests can travel through the mysterious world along with Dr. Victoria as they conduct Frankenstein’s experiments.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Not much is known about the Harry Potter-themed land, other than it is based on the 1920s Fantastic Beasts series.
The official opening date and ticket prices have not yet been announced, although there are plans to open to the public in the summer of 2025.
