A WOMAN has revealed the two things she should never have packed in her suitcase after flying 10 times in a month.
Harriet Davey, 34, gave her expert tips on how to pack before a sunny holiday.
The London-based fashion editor revealed how she went on a backpacking trip to Thailand and Cambodia in her 20s.
With a talent for traveling and spending time at the beach, she decided to spend a six-week vacation in the Philippines with her boyfriend.
With more than 7,000 islands in the country, Harriet knew it would be a long trip with many stops.
The fashion expert said she ended up boarding 10 flights in a month – and staying in 10 different hotels.
And with such a busy itinerary comes the hassle of packing luggage – especially when it’s not a round trip.
Harriet has now revealed the two things people should never take on such a long holiday.
Writing to Condé Nast Travelershe explained how packing “too much underwear” is always a mistake.
While underwear is always an essential part of your luggage, carrying too much of it – especially when visiting an island – could end up being a bad decision.
Harriet wrote: “You end up spending most of your time in a bikini – even for a night out.”
“We do a weekly wash in the laundries on each island, so there’s no need to take a lot.”
The next item Harriet said she should never have carried was her pair of sneakers.
While thick shoes like sneakers are always the most comfortable option, wearing them to beaches in the summer is just a bad idea.
Most people just wear them during flights and transits for comfort – but then swap them for less thick shoes, like flip-flops, to make things easier.
The expert said: “I ended up only wearing my trainers on flights to and from London.
“I wore Velcro sandals on days when I walked a lot, so the sneakers were strapped to my backpack or on the trail most of the time.”
It comes after a travel expert revealed the three things people should never wear on a flight – and the one item of clothing you should always take.
Selecting the right clothing can make all the difference to a person’s comfort during a flight, but many people don’t know this.
Meanwhile, travelers have been told how they can save hundreds of pounds by getting the “wrong fare” – but they will have to be quick.
With the start of the holiday season, travelers would be looking to score a good deal on fight tickets – and this tip could help them score cheap tickets.

It comes after a savvy flyer showed travelers how to minimize the damage to their wallets as fees to check their bags rise.
Passengers could save money by purchasing upgraded tickets, the expert said.
Other ways to save on your next flight

FOLLOWING these expert tips can save you hundreds of dollars when booking a plane ticket.
Be flexible: The travel company emphasized the importance of flexibility – saying that adjusting travel dates can offer a variety of cost-saving options.
You may choose to travel during less popular travel days, such as non-school holidays, or during off-peak and somewhat hectic times.
Consider last-minute deals: While it’s generally recommended to book in advance to avoid disappointment, last-minute deals can also offer savings.
During low season, travelers who book last minute can get incredible discounts.
However, they added that the ideal point for booking a European holiday is typically five months before departure – booking then could generate a 47% reduction in costs.
Although booking long-haul flights six months in advance can save travelers a whopping 54% off regular prices.
