WE love being bearers of good news. A new luxury camping resort will open this summer in Tennessee.

Watts Bar Lake residents can come out of hibernation with the opening of Jellystone Park’s newest theme park in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The resort will offer visitors two pool options, a large splash pad with two water slides and an outdoor cinema room.

Yogi Bear fans are guaranteed unbearable fun with local characters, themed wagon rides, laser tag, gem mining and arts and crafts activities.

Those who refuse to skimp on a proper vacation can also delight in luxurious glamping cabins and premium RV sites with panoramic lake views.

Other lodging options, such as luxury vacation homes, safari tents, and rustic grain stores, are also available in the current Jellystone Parks.

Families can also take their kids to attractions like floating trampolines and snow-free slides.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park announced the Tennessee location just weeks after expanding to Zion, Utah.

Utahns can book a stay for their kids at the state’s first camping resort.

Just like the Tennessee location, the resort will include many water attractions such as slides, two pools, hot tubs and even a lazy river.

Visitors with RVs will also be able to camp there.

Jellystone Park Camp Resorts currently has 75 locations across the US and Canada.

Five-star Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort

According to the Jellystone Park website, the first location opened in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsinin 1969 to a well-received reception.

“We could not have imagined the chaos that would ensue that opening weekend,” said Doug Haag, founder of Jellystone Park.

“Three times as many people as we had locals came to the camp!

“We allowed them to set up in the nearby field, on the playground, etc. – anywhere they could find space!”

Following the success of its first location, the park expanded to Florida and California thanks to popular demand.

Major Hollywood artists have also become involved with the park and its mascot, Yogi Bear.

“Because of the powerful Yogi Bear name, I have talked to movie stars and their agents about them owning one or more franchises,” Haag said.

“Business lunches with John Wayne, Andy Williams, Jack Lemon, The Smothers Brothers, Don Wilson and many more!”

Visitors can purchase day passes to Jellystone Park from US$45 per person.

Visitors under the age of three can enter for free with a ticketed participant.
