AN AMERICAN airline is giving out themed pajamas and toiletries to passengers following a bizarre link to a small UK town.
United Airlines will launch its new limited edition Wrexham AFC amenity kits and pajamas to celebrate the Welsh club’s continued success on and off the field.
Wrexham have just won back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One as their award-winning “Welcome to Wrexham” program continues to grow in popularity.
And as the club’s official shirt sponsor, United Airlines is launching its latest items as part of its wider sponsorship of Wrexham.
The world’s largest airline will offer free gifts to passengers flying in its premium cabins on long-haul international routes from June 1.
The items offered are; United x Wrexham AFC amenity case, United x Wrexham AFC amenity bag and United x Wrexham AFC pajamas.
Wrexham-inspired amenity kits will be offered to United Polaris business class travelers and packed with travel essentials.
It includes an eye mask, toothbrush and toothpaste, earplugs and socks, while exclusive Therabody skincare products will also be available.
This includes hand cream, lip balm, and a cleaning wipe.
For United Polaris business class customers on flights of 14 hours or longer, pajamas designed to look like team kits will be provided.
Including a long-sleeved red Wrexham shirt and gray trousers, United Airlines and Wrexham took inspiration from the team crest, tops and overall look.
Finally, the Wrexham-inspired amenity bag also features the Wrexham crest and is available in red, black or white.
Available to United Premium Plus travelers, the reusable zippered bag fits easily into a carry-on suitcase.
Peter Wolkowski, Director of Inflight Product Design at United, confirmed that the latest product is unique in that it will not be available anywhere else.
“With our amenity kits, we always aim to provide customers with products that make their journey more comfortable, as well as create unique memories for them to enjoy long after their flight,” he said.
“Wrexham’s history has been documented and celebrated over recent years, so we’re excited to offer United customers team-branded gear they won’t find anywhere else.”
With hubs in the largest U.S. cities, United Airlines offers gateways to more international destinations across the Atlantic and Pacific than any other airline in the world.
The airline will also sponsor Wrexham’s North American summer tour in July, where it will take teams to games and offer MileagePlus members exclusive offers.
