TRAVEL experts gave top tips on how to get a luxury hotel room, even if they say they’re sold out online or nearly impossible to book.

Before a busy summer of traveling to big sporting events, glamorous beach vacations or just city breaks, getting a hotel room can often be the trickiest but most crucial part.

The first tip The dots guy says to always consider contacting the hotel you want to stay at, even if it claims to be fully booked online.

They say many travel hotspots are hampered by the way search engines work, meaning some rooms may not always show up in an internet search.

By booking directly with the hotel, over the phone or even in person, you’ll not only be able to get the full layout of available rooms that a website can’t show, but you’ll also be able to find a bargain.

Ellie Nan Storck, editor-in-chief of hotel content at The Point Guy, said: “Search engines may not always be 100% accurate and you may be able to negotiate a fee depending on how much work you want to put into it.”

Another daring option for those who like strong emotions on their trips is to simply enter a hotel and ask for availability at reception.

A second tip given was to use third-party booking sites instead of going directly to the hotel’s website.

Travel agencies like Expedia or Booking.com are more popular than ever as they can offer last-minute bookings at reduced prices.

They are updated more regularly than a hotel’s official website in most cases, meaning you can get a room hours before you need it.

But booking a flight with a hotel room also has its advantages through this type of website.

The best hotel in Britain according to TripAdvisor

Henry Harteveldt, founder of travel industry analytics firm Atmosphere Research, said: “Many airlines partner with Booking, Expedia and others for accommodation content.

“It might be worth exploring them to see if there are hotels that meet the traveler’s needs in terms of location, quality, price and amenities.”

Although The Points Guy did give a warning saying that if you book through a third-party provider, be sure to check the fine print.

Since the hotel itself is not selling the package, if you have any serious problems you will need to contact the supplier, which can lead to several problems.

The lack of a face-to-face person who is not on site can make problems much more difficult to resolve.

The third and final tip revolves around changing locations.

Consider whether you are willing to move around a city on your trip, as it is often much easier to get a hotel room for a single night than for a longer period of time.

This especially applies to crowded cities like Paris for the Olympics or German cities for the upcoming Olympics. Euros.

Consider booking a different hotel room for each night of your trip, all within driving or train distance of each other.

The site’s senior hotel reporter, Tanner Saunders, said: “If hotels are hard to find or expensive in an area, try to hire a car and explore more of the country you are visiting.

“You might find better deals on the outskirts of town or even in a nearby town.”

Accommodation can also be cheaper if it is closer to an airport for a number of reasons such as noise, traffic and the lack of a big city on your doorstep.

Saunders continued: “Hotels close to an airport are often cheaper.

“Sure, you may have to train for more than 30 minutes, but you can save a lot money.”

Turns out a flight attendant has revealed that saving money on flights is an art – it’s something many people claim to be good at without offering any great solutions.

Their tips included being flexible, avoiding expensive baggage additions and keeping an eye out for erroneous fares where your ticket lists the incorrect price.

Millions of indecisive Brits are said to suffer from “holiday choice paralysis”.

It’s caused by too many options when planning a trip – including where to go, where to stay – and how much to spend.

A poll of 2,000 Travelers found that 45% are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of hotel recommendations and 20% end up feeling confused.
