O Island will debut this month, promising new perks and a 14-story atrium.

Staying true to its name, it will also feature a three-story bar.

The cruise ship will also offer family-friendly attractions on board, such as the Caribbean Amphibian Splash and Slide.

It is scheduled to take off from Tampa, Florida, with views of the Gulf of Mexico.

FLOAT ABOUT

The Islander isn’t the first time Margaritaville has taken its brand to sea.

“Since we launched our first ship, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, last year, we have been working to expand what our guests have been asking for,” said Margaritaville at Sea CEO Christopher Ivy.

“[They want] more incredible views, longer itineraries and new ports of call.

“The addition of Islander is an exciting time for Margaritaville at Sea and marks the next chapter of growth for our business.”

The cruise ship is clearly delivering on its promise, with calls from Key West to Progreso, Mexico.

“We are also pleased to add Tampa as a new home port – the perfect location to provide access to our new adventure itineraries in and around the Gulf of Mexico.”

LOCALLY LOVED

Port Tampa Bay President and CEO Paul Anderson approved the move to depart Tampa.

“We are honored that Margaritaville at Sea has chosen Port Tampa Bay to carry this new addition to their fleet and we welcome them to the Gulf Coast,” he said.

“Our port’s cruise terminals are easy to navigate and offer a variety of unique and interesting activities just steps from Margaritaville at Sea Islander.

“The ship will be a great addition to our portfolio of cruise lines and a fantastic new option for cruising off the west coast of Florida.”

The Islander will have the capacity to serve 2,650 guests at a time.

It will include a total of 1,100 cabins, 700 of which will have balcony access.

The Islander will take off for the first time on June 14, 2024 for four nights out of Port Tampa Bay, Florida.

There will be a stopover abroad in Cozumel, Mexico, and passengers will spend two days at sea.

“We are excited to expand our cruise line with the launch of Margaritaville at Sea Islander as our flagship ship,” said Margaritaville Holdings CEO John Cohlan.

“The addition of this ship will allow our guests to visit more island destinations and, while at sea, enjoy a broader and more elevated range of first-class onboard experiences.”
