An amusement park has taken your love of holidays to a new level with the debut of the world’s first sauce-themed roller coaster.
The unique attraction opened in a Midwestern town named after a beloved Christmas character.
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana is home to the Good sauce! rollercoaster.
The thrill ride stretches 1,500 feet and cost $10 million to build.
Passengers are seated in a gravy boat-shaped train as they travel through a tunnel designed to look like a can of cranberry sauce.
From there, they rise 72 feet into the air before falling back.
GRAVY BOWL
Holiday World theme park has different sections representing American holidays.
The good sauce! The roller coaster is appropriately located in the Thanksgiving-themed area of the park, where riders begin their journey at Grandma Gracy’s house.
“Grandma Gracy is known for her good gravy, and Grandpa Gavin is her biggest fan! This year at Thanksgiving, the unthinkable happens: the family runs out of gravy!” the park website explains.
“It’s up to you to help Grandma make more good gravy and save Thanksgiving dinner.”
Leah Koch-Blumhardt, owner of the park, celebrated the launch of the new roller coaster after its debut in May.
“After years of planning, it is moving to see Good Gravy! come to life,” he said in a statement.
“This isn’t the tallest or fastest roller coaster to open in North America this year, but it certainly has the most excitement.
“We love hearing feedback from the thousands of Visitors who have already traveled with the whole family.
“Family fun is what Holiday World is all about.”
Co-owner Lauren Crosby talked about the special touches added to the tour to make it feel like a trip to grandma’s house.
“It’s the little details that make all the difference,” she said.
“Our team paid close attention to detail when selecting the smallest items for the queue.
“We made sure the kitchen telephone cord was nice and long, and the piano sheet music was ‘Over the River and Through the Woods.’
“We hope our guests enjoy everything as much as we enjoyed making it happen.”
The park is open from May 24, 2024 to August 4, 2024.
From then on, the theme park serves customers only on weekends until October.
It also hosts a family-friendly Halloween event.
