Shorts

This advice comes from TikTok user Tommy Cimato, who warned against pants that end above the knee in a viral videobecause the chairs are not cleaned regularly.

He said: “Do not wear or try not to wear shorts when on a plane.

“You never know how clean it’s going to be, so if you have pants [trousers]you’ll have fewer germs.”

Tight clothes

Andrea also recommended leaving restrictive clothing in your suitcase during the flight.

“It’s really important to be able to move around a little in the chair – very difficult, I know – and keep the blood flowing,” she said.

“If you are tall, travel a lot or take a long flight, this is extremely important because you are at risk of developing DVT.

“Swelling is a big problem, even for flight attendants, so wear something comfortable around your waist, like an elastic band.”

High heels

Andrea continued: “I really advise against wearing high heels, mainly for safety reasons.

“If there is an evacuation and slides are needed, high heels will have to come off as they could puncture the slide.

“Plus, they’re not very practical for running door to door.”

Leggings

Aviation expert Christine Negroni, who has released a book about the world’s most mysterious air disasters, has revealed that leggings can be fatal if the plane you are traveling in crashes or there is a fire in the cabin.

She told Sun Online Travel: “You may have to escape a fire in the cabin or there may be a separate fire on the ground when you exit the aircraft.

“Everyone wears yoga pants on planes now, but I avoid all artificial fibers because they are more likely to burn and stick to you if there is a fire.

“I recommend wearing cotton clothing or anything made from natural fibers.”

Flip flops

CNN aviation analyst Mary Schiavo’s top recommendation when traveling is to always avoid wearing flip-flops.

She said: “Please wear comfortable shoes and leave them on until after takeoff.

“I see people boarding with flip-flops and I think if you have to get up and run and fall or can’t run, not only are you going to hurt yourself, but you’re going to hurt dozens of other people. on this plane.

“Then get some shoes.”

Jeans

Speaking with Mother of heavenFlight attendant Katie Ellen revealed that it’s always best to avoid jeans because your legs can swell when in the air.

Katie said: “I’m a flight attendant and former ground crew. The swell is real.

“You can start the day with a flat stomach and by the time you get to the other side you will have a swollen intestine.”
