THE world’s best airlines have been announced – and the highest-ranked in the US comes in at 21st place.

The air carrier certainly gained some passenger loyalty and outperformed other American brands by a remote margin.

O World Airline Awards recently announced the world’s top 100 airlines for 2024.

O awards began in 1999 after research and ratings company Skytrax “released its first annual global airline customer satisfaction survey.”

According to your websiteSkytrax ratings are “recognized as a global benchmark of airline standards around the world.”

What sets this rating system apart is that airlines are voted on by customers.

Traveler opinions play a key role in helping carriers reach the top.

Qatar Airways came in first, followed by Singapore Airways, Emirates, ANA All Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways.

Rounding out the top ten are Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, EVA Air, Air France and Swiss International Air Lines

CLASSIFICATION RESULTS

On the 2024 list, Delta Airlines ranked 21st, which represents a small drop from the previous year.

As of 2023, Delta Airlines is still in the top 20, albeit at 20th on the list.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Delta operates major hubs in major cities both nationally and internationally.

Delta News Hub shared that the carrier flies between the major markets of Amsterdam, Bogota, Boston, Detroit, Lima, London, Los Angeles and Mexico City, to name a few.

Although it did not rank in the top 20 overall, Delta ranked 13th in the world Best economy class airlines list for 2024.

And it’s miles ahead of other U.S. airlines: The next highest-ranked American carrier is United Airlines, at 42nd, followed by Alaska Airlines, at 60th, and JetBlue, at 65th.

BIG UPDATE

In February, Delta Airlines began renovating the cabins of some of its aircraft and renovated First Class passenger seats.

The airline’s newest First Class seat has debuted on refreshed Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The newest First Class seat, First ClassDelta, was originally launched in 2022 on the A321neo.

“Enhancing our aircraft interiors with select retrofits will give customers more premium options to choose from,” said Mauricio Parise, vice president of brand experience, in a statement.

“Delta is committed to creating a consistent, elevated customer experience across every travel touchpoint, which includes offering best-in-class products to our customers in-flight.”

The new seats offer more privacy, upper and lower storage space and are complete with a sturdier tray table.

The updates didn’t stop there.

Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin seats on specific Boeing 737-800 aircraft have also been upgraded with Panasonic ten-inch seatback screens and touchless features in the lavatories.

Delta has also expanded the Delta One cabin on Airbus A350-900 fleets with eight more lie-flat suites for a more comfortable experience.

Delta Airlines release said that “the A350-900 will soon feature 40 Delta One suites, 40 seats in the Delta Premium Select cabin, 36 seats with extra legroom in Delta Comfort+ and 159 seats in the main cabin.”

These advancements should be fully in service by the end of the summer.
