DISNEY is launching its seventh cruise ship for the first time on an entirely new continent.

With most of their trips starting in the US, Brits often have to go to Florida to join.

But from 2025, the new Disney Adventure will depart from Singapore, the first to do so in Asia.

On board the ship there will be seven themed areas:

  • Disney’s Garden of Imagination
  • Disney’s Discovery Recef
  • São Fransokyo Street
  • Marvel Landing
  • Toy story place
  • town square
  • Wayfinder Bay

The Imagination Garden will be the heart of the ship, with space for outdoor performances and an “enchanted valley”.

Discovery Reef will be based on nautical films such as The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo, with shops and restaurants while São Fransokyo Street will be inspired by the street markets with games and stores too.

Moana fans can head to Wayfinder Bay, with an island inspired by the Pacific Islands poolwhile the Town Square will have shops and restaurants built in a forest with many of the famous princesses.

Marvel Landing will have an “all-new attraction,” while Toy Story Place will have dining areas and water play zones.

The Disney website adds: “This exciting new ship will also introduce many other innovative new additions to Disney Cruise Line, including experiences created especially for Southeast Asia.”

More will be revealed about the ship closer to its launch, as well as an official launch date and prices for the three- and four-night voyages.

However, the routes will sail for at least five years.

Disney Adventure will be the seventh cruise ship to join the fleet.

Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish, the largest to date, are already in operation.

Disney Treasure will launch in December 2024, followed by Disney Adventure in 2025.

Disney’s new private island also opened, the first since 1998.

Lighthouse Point, in the Bahamas, is the second after the success of Castaway Cay.

Disney cruises in the UK will also launch next year.

Departing from Southampton, trips will range from five to 12 nights across Europe.

What is a Disney cruise really like?

The Sun’s deputy travel editor Kara Godfrey tried the Disney Dream – here’s the verdict:

I can’t say I wasn’t a little jealous of all the kid-friendly activities, which included princess makeovers at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Millennium Falcon rides at the Disney Oceaneer Club.

But even as an adult, I was still spoiled for choice, with adults-only pools, bars and some of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited.

The French restaurant Remy, inspired by the film Ratatouille, is by far the most chic.

With just 16 tables, you need to book in advance, but those who manage to get a seat are treated to impeccable service and a divine five-course menu that was so good I’m still thinking about it.

Don’t worry if you can’t make a reservation, as there are three main themed restaurants offering a “rotating dining” experience.

And if jet lag sets in and you sleep through dinner and wake up at 3 a.m., the 24-hour room service menu includes burgers, pizza and fried chicken at the snack bars.

Over the three days, I cried at a live performance of the award-winning Beauty and the Beast, rejoiced watching the nightly fireworks show, and laughed during a particularly raucous karaoke session that included a memorable rendition of Breaking Free by High School Musical.

All this fun and I had barely scratched the surface of the endless entertainment aboard the Disney Dream.

Passengers will board the Disney Fantasy through SpainGreece, Italy and Norway.

The Sun’s travel editor Caroline McGuire experienced a Disney cruise in the UK last year – here’s what it’s like.
