A WEATHER expert has revealed the flight you should never book during the summer or you risk being cancelled.

Meteorologist Chris Bianchi advised travelers to avoid booking afternoon or evening flights in the United States during the summer months.

This is due to the increased risk of thunderstorms during these time periods.

Bianchi, a meteorologist at 9News, an NBC affiliate in Denver, said: “Never book a flight in the afternoon, or especially at night, during the summer months in the United States.

“The chances of there being a thunderstorm somewhere in the United States in the afternoon or evening are very high during the summer months… if you have a thunderstorm in the wrong place and it affects your flight, you could be completely screwed.”

And when the expert made the mistake of breaking his own rule, he found himself stuck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport in the early hours of the morning.

The TikTok star also encouraged travelers to use flight radar apps like FlightAware and Flightradar24 to track their incoming flight.

He added: “Say you’re flying from New York to Miami and your flight comes from Chicago or Minneapolis, check the weather in those places.

“Because if there is weather in those places, there is a good chance that your flight… will be affected as a result.”

I stayed in a hotel with one of the ‘best views in the world’ – and it only cost £32 each

The expert also suggested booking a backup flight as an insurance policy.

He said, “Otherwise, darlings, you’ll end up like me: a guy making a TikTok in a deserted Terminal B of LaGuardia Airport at 1:45 a.m., patiently waiting for my 4 a.m. flight back home to Denver.”

Travel consultants in eShores have revealed their top tips for passengers to ensure their passport isn’t rejected at the airport and they can travel as planned this summer.

Firstly, they advise against purchasing novelty souvenir stamps that could cause problems on future trips.

Some destinations offer novelty stamps for passports, but these can impact future travel, so it’s best not to get them.

These stamps are not officially recognized and may be considered alteration or defacement, which may lead to passport rejection.

Water damage is also a big problem for travelers.

Passports with significant water damage are often considered invalid for travel, especially if the information is obscured or the laminate begins to lift.
