Theme park trips should be fun for kids and adults alike.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort could be just the thing this summer, with the park rated by the Travel Channel as “America’s #1 Water Park.”

The San Antonio theme park is the pride and joy of Texas, having topped several lists, including Amusement Today.

In 2022, the resort was awarded with the publication “The Best Water Park in the World”, or Golden Ticket Award, for the record-breaking 24th consecutive year, making the attraction the oldest award winner in the award’s history.

“It is an honor for our park to win this award again for the 24th consecutive time,” said Darren Hill, vice president and general manager of Schlitterbahn Waterparks & Resort.

“This Golden Ticket represents the greatest reward for the hard work and efforts of our associates who strive every day to provide a safe, friendly, unique and fun environment for our guests.”

Schlitterbahn’s charm may lie in its luxurious suites, inspired by the overwater bungalows of the Asian and French Polynesian islands of the Maldives and Bora Bora.

The park’s Treehaus Suites include fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, and even hand-carved wooden furniture, with elevated views of the park’s large lazy river and the Comal, New Braunfels’ two-mile-long river.

Entrance to the park gives you access to more than 40 different rides and experiences, including waterslides and slides, surf rides, and water roller coasters.

The spectrum of intensity per ride varies greatly, from lazy rivers to experiences like The Falls, the world’s longest water park.

The 3,600-foot-long whitewater river tour offers guests sweeping views of the resort and is filled with raging tides, waterfalls, and crashing waves.

Several tubular ramps provide all the turns and dips one could want, with many even ending in the Comal River.

Adults and children can have endless fun, especially with a swim-up bar for over 21s.

The Boogie Bay heated pool is a secluded hot spring that offers beverages of choice for those looking for a getaway spot.

The bar offers a selection of signature drinks, including the American Colada and Mangonada, and a lineup of refreshing, sparkling beers.

Parents looking to take a break can leave their children at the resort’s newest children’s area, in Schatze’s Storybrook Park on Schlitterbahn West.

The park includes the world’s first children’s water roller coaster, a mini version of Schlitterbahn’s famous Master Blaster roller coaster.

It also includes more than 70 interactive water features, spray toys, splash pads and a huge 1,200-gallon tipping water bucket.

Travelers on a budget will be happy to know that tickets won’t break the bank, with prices starting at $49.99.

Visitors can take a dip in the resort's lazy river or opt for more intense rides on its thrilling roller coasters.

Hungry passengers can also opt for the Slide & Dine package, which includes an entrée and a single meal for $59.99.

Big fans can purchase season passes starting at just $115 for unlimited visits to the resort year-round.

The theme park also offers free general parking for all visitors.
