Those looking for EMOTION don’t need to depend on Disneyland to have family fun this summer.
Another huge American theme park that already houses dozens of attractions has now introduced two new attractions for children.
TAKE A TRIP
Located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Six Flags Over Texas, a Disneyland-inspired theme park with more than 100 rides, shows and attractions, now has even more to offer.
On July 4, they opened two new cartoon-themed rides, including Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters and Sylvester, and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, according to Houston cultural map.
In Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, kids can spin around in circular teacup-style buckets rigged with water jets and engage in water battle.
The ride is described as offering lots of “twists and turns” as you have to keep an eye out to see where the next spray might come from.
Riders will even enjoy seeing Daffy himself – that’s because everyone revolves around a raised central bucket that the character occupies as water cascades down.
While a spokesperson confirmed that these Bucket Blasters were already in the park between 2014 and 2021, they were not in use during construction of the park’s Aquaman pool.
SUSPENDED
Those who are not afraid to face their fears can climb the Sylvester and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, a suspended tower that lowers and rises from a 41-foot tower.
Get ready to fall and slide on this “jiggly” ride every time Tweety takes a bong to Sylvester’s head.
According to Ride websiteyou will have a “laughing fit”.
It also seems like everything is not just bigger — but also louder — in the Lone Star State.
While the ride can be found at other parks, including Magic Mountain in California, this Texas suspension tower measures twice as tall.
Both new rides can be found in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown area of the park.
They join other recent additions including El Rio Leno Log Flume Ride and Aquaman Power Wave.
The park is also home to 14 roller coasters.
Meanwhile, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is the largest water park in North Texas, with more than 40 attractions.
SWEET SUCCESS
The park also has a storied history.
After the original Disneyland opened in 1955, many other parks tried to duplicate its success, according to Texas Architect.
Copycat theme parks in places like Colorado’s Magic Mountain and Japan’s Nara Dreamland eventually closed, but Six Flags Over Texas was able to replicate Disney’s magic.
After Texas politicians and developers failed to convince Disney itself to open a park in their part of the country, they took matters into their own hands.
They designed their park with “six themed lands” and eventually opened as Six Flags Over Texas in 1961.
