Travel will begin with two flights per week departing Miami and arriving at Norman B Saunders Airport, according to a release.

The change is expected to take place in February 2025.

Turks and Caicos, like Miami, are known for their breathtaking beaches.

It is home to Grace Bay Beach, which has won awards including World’s Best Beach Destination from the World Travel Awards, according to their website.

The beach also ranked second on Trip Advisor’s list of the World’s Best Beaches.

“In the previous decade, Grace Bay won first or second place in these two competitions 19 times,” the website says.

Grace Bay is known for its white sands and crystal clear waters that look like a scene from a travel magazine.

It is also home to ecotourism and other activities to enjoy its natural wonders.

The beach is named after Grace Jane Hutchings, wife of the Commissioner of Turks and Caicos between 1933 and 1934.

WHY THE CHANGE?

The destination has been praised by beach lovers and is welcomed by the local Minister of Tourism in Turks and Caicos, Josephine Connolly.

“This new service aligns perfectly with our policy vision to diversify the tourism offering and ensure that every island in the Turks and Caicos Islands benefits from the tourism industry,” she said in a statement.

“By improving accessibility to South Caicos, we are opening new avenues for economic development and providing unique and enriching opportunities for our visitors.

“Together, we aspire to build a promising future, creating a wealth of opportunities for our citizens and providing unparalleled experiences for our visitors.”

Experience Turks and Caicos President Alvin Hegner also weighed in on the 2025 route.

“South Caicos is our fishing capital, but it is also rich in history,” he said.

He mentioned the rich history of Turks and Caicos, which keeps tourists coming back, in addition to the water-related activities.

It is home to several historic landmarks, including its capital, Cockburn Town.

“There are numerous marine activities such as snorkeling, diving, bone fishing and a number of events year-round, including the highly anticipated South Caicos Regatta,” he said.

“We recently appointed a local representative for South Caicos to assist in the improvement and development of Great South.

“And I’m confident the community will benefit from all these new developments.”
