THEME parks are slowly starting to reopen, with Thorpe Park and Alton Towers expecting to welcome visitors from July.

The question on the lips of many park enthusiasts, however, is when the Disney parks will reopen.

While Shanghai Disneyland has just opened, Disney World in Florida is expected to open this summer.

Disneyland California will also open next month – but little is known about Disneyland Paris.

Here’s everything you need to know about Disneyland Paris, from when it will open to what new changes you can expect.

When will Disneyland Paris reopen?

The reopening dates for Disneyland Paris have not yet been revealed.

The website explains: “We look forward to welcoming you back to Disneyland Paris and will announce our official reopening date as soon as possible.

“Our reopening plans will reflect a cautious approach designed to prioritize the health and safety of our guests and cast members while delivering our signature experience to Disney guests.”

While other Disney parks in the US and Asia are already open or have plans to open with limited capacity next month, there is no news for Disneyland in France.

Some theme parks in Europe have also reopened – Europa-Park in Germany and Efteling in the Netherlands – but with the lockdown in France being one of the strictest, it may be some time before Disneyland opens again.

The French government said some theme parks will be able to open from June 22, but that Disneyland Paris will be closed until “at least July 14.”

How much will tickets cost?

Last year’s tickets cost between £76 and £217 at the gate, depending on how many parks were included in the ticket, while park, hotel and Eurostar deals started from £159pp.

Ticket prices currently include Mini tickets, which allow off-peak travel, from £52.51 for adults, to Super Magic tickets, which allow you to visit any day of the year for £79.21.

They can still be reserved on the website as they can be used for future park reopening dates.

Do you already have tickets reserved before the park opens? Disneyland is allowing full refunds or vouchers for the cost if traveling before June 14th.

Will hotels also open?

The new Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will no longer open on its planned June 14th date.

Anyone with stays booked through October can get a full refund.

The remaining hotels are expected to open alongside the park’s opening, although this depends on safety standards and capacity limitations.

What new rules are being implemented?

New safety and social distancing guidelines have not yet been released.

However, other theme parks are introducing new measures such as temperature checks at gates, contactless payment incentives and additional hygiene stations throughout the park.

Some are mandating the use of face masks, while others are opening at limited capacity, such as 30% at first.

Rides and attractions will likely be affected – indoor rides may remain closed, while roller coasters may operate with empty rows between each family.

Legoland will also reopen from July 4th, with entire rows empty between guests to ensure social distancing.

The new £3.5 billion theme park, dubbed “UK Disney World”, has moved a step closer to being built, after announcing a public consultation on its plans this summer.

The London Resort, which will be built on 535 acres of land in a former cement factory in Swanscombe, Kent, is expected to open in 2024.
