TEXANS will soon be able to get relief from the summer heat with a new water park.
O Big Wolf Storea chain of indoor water parks with resorts in the South, West and Northeast, debuted its Webster location in Houston for a preview on Thursday.
The theme park, which will open on August 7th, began construction in September 2022.
Great Wolf Lodge Gulf Coast Texas, a hybrid family resort and water park, will have more than 530 rooms, including the 95,000-square-foot water park.
“With millions of families visiting our resort in Grapevine, we know that Texas families love the Great Wolf Lodge experience and we are excited to introduce our second resort in the Lone Star State,” said Murray Hennessy, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts.
“A hallmark of Great Wolf Lodge is that we help families strengthen their pack by offering a fun-filled, close-knit, convenient and carefree getaway.
“With this new resort, we will be able to better serve families in the Houston area and southeastern Houston.”
The park is the chain’s second location in Texas, with another in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The project, which cost US$200 million to build, will have dozens of competitors in the region, but it also has the advantage of being completely internal.
The massive water park will be heated to a consistent 84 degrees.
It promised to offer state-of-the-art attractions, including four-story waterslides that will reach the main area.
The resort will include a diverse selection of slides, raft rides, activity pools, slides and splash zones for guests of any age.
It will also have more than adequate accommodation for guests, with more than 532 rooms.
Guests can choose from standard, themed or premium suites, each large enough to bring the whole family.
A typical standard suite includes two queen beds, a full sofa bed, full bathroom, sitting area, mini-fridge, television, and coffee maker to meet the needs of up to six people.
The new resort will also include a 58,000-square-foot family entertainment center called Great Wolf Adventure Park.
The park offers a variety of events and attractions for the whole family, including the foolproof kid magnet MaqiQuest, an action game where participants can use interactive magic wands to battle mystical creatures.
Free events like dance parties and Yoga Tails, a morning exercise program, encourage visitors to get moving.
The themed program will combine stories of creatures found in the forest included in the yoga itinerary.
“Tourism is one of Webster’s main economic drivers,” Webster City Mayor Donna Rogers said in a statement.
“And Great Wolf Lodge is a force multiplier that will attract visitors from a super-regional and global market.”
Tickets for Great Wolf Lounge Webster are now available for reservation.
