AN AIRLINE has revealed it is introducing new seating rules that allow passengers to choose the gender they sit next to.

The controversial reservation option, the first of its kind, would indicate where women are sitting with pink indicators.

IndiGo, India’s largest budget airline, plans to launch the feature to help women feel safer – as men won’t see the gender of their traveling companions.

A company representative said, “IndiGo is proud to announce the introduction of a new feature that aims to make the travel experience more comfortable for our female passengers.

“This was introduced based on market research and is currently in pilot mode, aligning with our #GirlPower ethos.

“The feature offers visibility of seats reserved by female passengers, only during web check-in.

“It is specifically tailored to the PNRs of female travelers – both alone and as part of family bookings.”

This comes after IndiGo ticket holders earlier expressed a desire to sit next to members of the same sex due to religious beliefs.

The new feature is expected to begin in August 2024 on all flights.

However, the policy has sparked controversy on social media, with some leaflets dubbing it “sexist” and “discriminatory”.

It turns out that a European airline is about to introduce flights with child-free zones – but it will come at a cost.

No passenger likes to hear a baby scream or deal with a restless child next to them on board.

But now tourists can say goodbye to those painful in-flight experiences and travel without children.

Travelers will enjoy peace and comfort behind solid partition walls and curtains, separating them from the rest of the cabin.

Corendon is the first European airline to offer unique luxury opportunities.

The children’s only area will have a limited number of 93 places – so it’s important to book quickly.

Anyone who wants to enjoy the adults-only area will have to pay an extra €45 one way.

And another budget airline has also launched new cheap flights between the UK and Thailand with a free children’s section.

Low-cost airline Scoot, first launched in 2012, has now started cheap flights from London Gatwick to Bangkok this month, with fares as low as £170.

Meanwhile, the world’s “best business class” has been revealed with a state-of-the-art suite – which comfortably accommodates up to four passengers.

Qatar Airways has unveiled its Qsuite Next Gen seats, set to give the Boeing 777-9 aircraft a major makeover.

The sleek, ultra-modern compartment is the epitome of luxury.

It has “more space, personalization and comfort than ever before”, with taller, digitally controlled sliding doors for greater privacy.
