Spirit Airlines is changing its traditional business model and introducing travel upgrades that offer low fares along with a “premium experience.”

Four new travel options include the Go Big, Go Comfy, Go Savvy and Go packages, all with no change or cancellation fees.

Go, the most affordable upgrade, allows passengers to add their choice of checked baggage, seat selection, Wi-Fi, plus snacks and drinks.

Go Savvy includes your choice of a carry-on bag or a piece of checked baggage, as well as seat selection.

The two lower level options will be available to book from August 16th.

Go Comfy not only includes a carry-on bag, a checked bag, and your choice of seat, but also a guaranteed blocked middle seat, priority boarding, and complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Spirit’s largest premium package, Go Big, offers travelers extra legroom with a large front seat with no occupied middle seat, carry-on luggage, checked luggage, priority check-in and boarding, snacks and drinks, and Wi-Fi free.

The two top-level upgrades will be available to reserve from August 16th and experience from August 27th.

Spirit followed in the footsteps of Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines, which announced overhauls of their business models.

“As the Company advances its transformation strategy, it anticipates that over time it will be able to drive improvement in total revenue by passenger segment,” Spirit said.

Frontier Airlines has announced that it will begin offering packages that will include options like seat assignments and carry-on luggage.

Southwest also made major changes to its strategy after 53 years in the business of restructuring seats.

The budget airline has done away with its open-seat design and will instead offer extra legroom to paying customers.

Southwest previously offered a single economy class cabin with no seat assignments.

Passengers used to compete for seats on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The airline previously offered priority boarding for an extra fee.
