Utah’s Sand Hollow State Park Located in Hurricane, Utah, it is home to red sand “beaches” despite not being close to the coast.

The striking appearance is created by the natural red sandstone and the lakes that surround them.

The lesser-known vacation spot is located in the Greater Zion Desert.

It is full of oases perfect for strolling and photographing.

It’s also a popular spot for camping and even all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), according to the park.

WHAT TO DO

Sand Hollow State Park offers activities for all outdoor intensity levels.

From cabin rentals to tent pitching, there is something for everyone.

Park goers can stay in yurts, cabins, tiny houses and other accommodations for an even more comfortable stay.

The camping experience is elevated, with access to full bathrooms, running water and electricity for visitors.

The campsites are also equipped with fire pits to gather around and marvel at the natural wonders.

FAN FAVORITE

The park is clearly a hit with visitors, with many taking to its Instagram page.

Although the summer months see many visitors, it is typically open year-round.

Even with the cold weather in the winter months which can lower water levels, thrill seekers still find a way to make it work.

One winter post on the park’s Instagram highlighted that Sand Hollow was full of water in early January.

“This is amazing news after that record dry spell,” wrote one.

“By the way, the water looks amazing. It’s time to get out the kayaks.”

“Now if you could put a heater in the water and warm it up a bit I would be surfing,” said another.
